Former Govenor of Massachusetts, Willard Mitt Romney, commonly known as Mitt Romney today, was born March 12, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan. Mitt Romney spent his life growing up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan with his mother Lenore Romney and father, George W. Romney.
Following Romney's graduation from Cranbook School in 1965, Romney preceded onto attending Stanford University from 1965-1966. In 1971, Romney in addition entered Brigham Young University and in 1975 Mitt Romney began Harvard Business School and Harvard Law School.
Whilst attending elementary school in Michigan, Romney met Ann Davies, now Ann Romney. Whilst still present at Cranbook School, Mitt Romney began a relationship with Ann Romney who went to Cranbook's sister school, Kingswood. Following their 1965 engagement after graduation from high school, the couple then authenticated and made their relationship official March 21,1969.
Exactly one year after the Romney's 1969 marriage, Ann Romney gave birth to the couples first son, Taggart "Tagg" March 21, 1970. In the next following years the Romney's continued to expand their ever-growing family with the 1971 birth of Matthew "Matt" Romney, 1975 birth of Joshua "Josh" Romney, 1978 birth of Benjamin "Ben" Romney and 1981 birth of Craig Romney. The Romney's five boys married and began adult lives and families of their own giving Ann and Mitt Romney eighteen grandchildren.
Mitt Romney entered the business world after graduating in 1975 from Harvard University. Romney's business side first began after working at the Boston Consulting Group. Later on after gaining enough experience in the field, Romney became vice president of Bain & Company Inc., another highly recognized Boston Consulting Firm. In addition, Mitt Romney was co-founder of Bain Capital and ran the corporation for a solid 14 years. In 2002, Mitt Romney proved his leadership skills after saving the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympic Games from budgetary issues by expert fundraising techniques and overall budget reductions regarding the games. Mitt Romney's political career arose after taking general interest from his father, George Romney, 43rd governor of Michigan. In 2003, Mitt Romney was sworn in as the 70th governor of Massachusetts and continued as governor until his term ended in 2007. After his term came to a close, Romney declared his decision of candidacy for the Republican party Presidential Nomination in 2008, but ended up dropping out of the race because of John McCain, chosen Republican presidential nominee's strong lead. After defeat in Mitt Romney's 2008 quest for nomination, Romney began campaigning once again and announced he was running for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination and this time around, Romney was successful in nomination.
